Hi

I'm basically looking for a camera that I can attach directly to an ethernet port, so PPoE would be an advantage that we can view via computer or ipad. The only catch is that it can't use any cloud service, as the footage can't be placed on any 3rd party servers, we would be ok hosting our own server if needed but ideally; there would be an ip address of the webcam that we can just go to on a browser and view the live stream.

Thanks in advance...

Another vote for Axis as a good quality product. If being exposed to the Internet, make sure you patch and keep the firmware up to date.

There's a big CCTV thread on here with lots of useful information, but Hikvision are generally regarded as being decent.

I've just picked up a couple of Hikvision IPC-B120 cameras for around £50 each and am very impressed with the quality of the image for the price. They have a nice Windows application (iVMS) which can be downloaded for free to provide viewing/recording capability.

Thanks guys, it's to oversee operations it's not the kinda video you want floating about on the internet or hosted on a cloud

Is there any smaller webcam size ones rather than the 1984 style ones..
