Hey all,

Looking at the Western Digital MyBook Pro to use as a backup drive for my MacBook Pro, but I've spotted the NAS equivalent of the external Firewire model I fancied.

My question is.. How easy are these NAS HDDs to setup? Will it be a case of plug in to a modem and access the drive across the network?

Need an answer ASAP so I can change my order :)

Cheers

I believe you just connect it to your router with an ethernet cable and it becomes Network Accessible.

Usually they are set to have an IP assigned to them by DHCP, and then management is done through a web interface (just like a router).
