Is there any way to use the graphics card in one machine to handle the graphics processing of another over gigabit LAN?

The idea is to allow a little HTPC setup to borrow the graphics power of a dedicated games PC elsewhere in the house.

Given that Onlive and Gakai can do it over the internet, it seems supprising if it cant be done on an internal network. But, thus far, I havent come across a way of doing it. Anyone managed anything like this?

Onlive sends a picture of the screen that they are running their machines.

Why don't you run a long HDMI cable from your dedi PC to your TV and use wireless KB + Mouse.

That will be wireless display, not wireless availability of GPU cycles.

Wireless display protocols and hardware have been around for many years. You do not need a special graphics card to wirelessly send video.
