Hi folks,

I've had little experience with networking so this will likely seem terribly uninformed but here we go.

OK, what we have is the following

Vista Desktop
Vista Laptop
Wireless Router (but using Ethernet Cables as walls are causing havoc with the signal)
Cable Modem
PS3

OK, basically the way I have this set up presently is having all 3 devices connected via ethernet, it shares the internet connection automatically, no problems. What I'd like to be able to do is share files between the Desktop and Laptop but seem to be struggling to do this. I've enable the files from the Desktop that I want to share and can see either machine in my Network folder but when i click on the icon for either machine I get the following error;

"\\(COMPUTER NAME)\ is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Not really sure where to being diagnosing this but simply I'd like to share certain drives on either machine, printer, internet connection, Windows Media Libary, (is it possible to share Itunes?) and if anyone knows if you can stream media to the PS3 similar to how you can on the X360 that would be cool.

Would appreciate any help!

Matt

Yes I have a PS3, was very impressed when streaming with Nero server. Nero encoded the unsupported media (Divx) into a format the PS3 could use (mpeg4?) No juttering or anything over 54Mbps Wireless. :)

Havent tried with Media players service though. Good Luck
