Hi guys n gals, I'm looking to get some sort of backup file sharing system together without buying a server to link my two macs and pc.

What I want it to do is link all three machines so they all see the external drive. Thus being able to access the files from each computer.

Would like a large 500gb + setup with some kinda of mirrored drive option for backups incase one goes down.

We have 6/7 years worth of design work on CD's and DVD's and is a pain having to sift through them.

The big man is always saying "yeah we should do this sort of thing" but never does get round to it, so I'm taking the first step to sort it.

Can any one advise me on the best equipment and best possible way to do this.

Cheers

Have a look at a Buffalo TerraStation Pro - I've got several of them dotted around the company.

You might find people suggesting the Netgear SC101 but they're complete and utter crap. They also have no Mac support.

Cheers for the reply.

I'm thinking more on a tighter budget of max around 300/350 quid at the moment.

I'm only proposing the idea to him right now.
