Hi guys,
forgive my noobness, being a switcher i have a question.
I've just bought a shiny new 24" iMac and want to copy all my music/pics etc from my dinosaur Pc to the Mac.
Can I and if so how do i network them both for this purpose?
By the way did I mention I own a 24" iMac WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

If they are on the same network they will just see each other as long as you share the folders on your PC you want to copy over. Thats all i did.

Hmm, my answer didn't help him? If I search google within less than a second I have several guides detailing step by step exactly how to achieve what Kawolski asked.

On the other hand, in 4 hours the only other reply offered assumed knowledge of network sharing windows folders.

Share your PC, folders and hard drives, whichever you want to copy over

Then on your mac, if its on the same network press apple+k

Then smb://PC-NAME or smb://IP.*.*.* whichever you prefer

Then put in your windows username/password and you can select which shared HDD/folder to connect to and copy stuff over :)

Moot point now but I find the file sharing a little flaky. Moving shed loads of files is best using the "sneakernet" as you have done.
