i got my media centre all up and running now (about time :) ) now i currently got two hard drives doing nothing apart from gathering dust, now im thinking of getting an Icy Box IB-NAS4220-B Ethernet NAS Enclosure to put them in but my htpc only has one 10/100/1000 port, now if i get D-Link DGS-1005D 5-Port Gigabit Switch and some ethernet cable would it be a simple case of connecting my broadband in to the switch along with the NAS and connecting the switch to my htpc ? or is it not that simple ?

no real reason but from what i gather from the reviews, better speeds from using a giga port instead of 10/100, i could be very wrong thou :p

That is correct. You'll get a better speed between your local devices. i.e. Icy Box to HTPC through a gig switch. That is, provided your HTPC has a Gigabit Network Adapter, the IB-NAS4220-B does.
