Right I have a HTPC which is connected to the internet running Windows MCE 2005

I have just purchased a laptop, which is running Vista Premium. I now have both connecting to my wireless router to access the internet which I have made secure which works perfectly.

But.....Man this file sharing is driving me mad. I have used the obvious windows file sharing etc, allowed the file sharing for the folders I have allowed access.

Yet......Grrrrrrrrr I still cannot view folders which I have shared on both PC's.

What am I doing wrong?

Is there a firewall on the PC? Can the laptop ping the PC?

Hi thank you for your response. No I cannot ping the PC via the laptop, just been trying. The USB wireless dongle is connected to the network with an IP address, but I cannot ping the assign IP.

Any ideas?

You should be able to add a rule to the firewall (what firewall is it?) to give the other machine are (more) free reign.
Does file sharing work with the firewall off?
