Basically I've moved to a bigger bedroom in the house, unfortunately there's no phone extension in the room. I've been using a Netgear WG311T wireless card, connecting to my Netgear DG834PN. I've noticed file transfer speeds and general internet usage to have sporadic slow downs, it's starting to become more and more frequent. We had our house rewired about 6 years ago so I thought about getting a netgear powerline starter kit. But then I thought it would be cheaper just to have BT come in an fit a new extension, much to my dismay BT are charging 166.00 to have an extension fitted whereas I could get a powerline kit for 120.00 I think it was. I guess my question is which would be the better investment in regards to performance, would it be cheaper to get an electrician to fit an extension?
