Does anyone know anything about network time domain graphs? I've googled and found absolutely nothing. My brother has an assignment which I'm trying to help with but without notes i'm at a loss where to start.

Question is....

Draw a time domain graph showing how a device would signal the 8 bit data 10110010 using the following asynchronous serial communication settings; data rate of 200Kpbs, 8 data bits, even parity, one stop bit. Assume an idle state of 1 and bipolar signaling.

Am i right in thinking it's something like

1 0 11 00 1 0
_ __ _
|_| |__| |_

The parity part confuses me as it already has even parity, right? And I know nothing about the idle and stop bits.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

time domain

this just means that you refraining you graph in "time"

edit: your graph is going to be 0.04 seconds long

EDIT: 0.00004 long

Thanks for your help so far, it's starting to make a lot more sense now! Just one thing, the time is bits/rate? Would that be 8/200000 which would be 0.0004 of a second rather than 0.04?
