BE are without a doubt the greatest ISP ive ever known take a look at this:

My connection 3 days ago was like this:
279835344.png

I asked them if they could turn interleaving off on my connection as my stats were good, they did it the same day i requested it, new stats:
281103616.png

an improvement but not really much to write home about, last night i asked them to stick me on a 3gb SN margin profile:
281408835.png

what a leap :D modem says its connecting at 21,564mbps down and 1,399mbps up, compared to 3 days ago where i was connecting at around 15mbps!

incredible, anyone else tried getting fastpath turned on and trying out a lower SN margin profile and seen much improvement?

These are my stats now:

Uptime: 0 days, 0:33:10
Modulation: G.992.5 Annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,399 / 21,811

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 18.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 12.5 / 25.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 4.0 / 3.5

Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 44 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 2 / 68
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 43

Your line looks good so far try leaving it overnight and get the stats then if you dont get any framing or signal errors on a 3db profile with fastpath on then your good to go.

I tried a 3db profile with fp on but it wasn't stable so i went back to 6db profile yes BE are very good most of the time just wish they had lightening fast customer service aswell.

hey guys, these are my line stats:

FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 5,161
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 3
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 21 / 2

when the uptime starts was when i first connected to Be*.
i'm on the Be Pro package. are these line stats good? i assume that the sync speed will increase over time?

your attenuation and SN margin are the same as mine when i first got it, granted i was syncing at a little over 15-16mb rather than 13 though but that could be as its a new line?

repost your stats after 12hours uptime and if there good you could try asking BE for fastpath, then if there still good with no disconnects try a 3db DN margin profile, they managed to boost me from 15-16mb average to 20-21mb average sync

Man, I wish my line wasn't so bad. My attenuation is even lower but my line gives tons of errors. I'd love to sync the same as you.

Your SNR is indeed increidbly low for such a low attenuation. I've been there before and feel your pain :/

Have you tried connecting at the test socket behind the master socket and/or removing extentions and/or the ring wire (e.g. all the usual steps)?

Annex M, gives faster upload speed.

Indeed. Though sometimes at the expense of (a small amount) of downstream. If your line/router can deal with it, having 2.5mbit upload is nice though :)

Bet no-ones as bad as mine.

No idea how to check attenuation on a Netgear DG834PN, but i'm miles from the exchange. I was getting 2 Mb on BT 8Mb.

thought id try out BE pro (asked them if i could switch this morning, get home from work and its all ready :D) though it looks like interleaving has been turned on again

Yes Be are a fantastic ISP, switched to them about 6 months ago and it's been great ever since. Very quick, very stable and their tech support service are always happy to help and generally know what you are talking about / requesting.

Still not as fast as what I have here at work though.. :(

Quite common for them to do that iirc. Simple enough to get it turned off again.

I found the speedtouch (780) was awful for Annex M and far from stable. The GT with custom firmware was far nicer to use.

ive got a netgear DG834 i use usually, using the bebox while i get my connection how i like it (so that the BE techys can get reports from it)

Ah, good plan :)

Quite looking forward to getting Be again in my new house in July. ~300metres from the exchange so I'm really hoping it'll be a decent line. Rather than last time when I moved and the line went round the houses, leading to a longer line despite being closer to the exchange *cry*
