Never seen my father in such a state

In my opinion heart bypasses are the most draining operation of all on the patient. I'm lost as to why he was screaming though?

Do you know if they have given him aspirin to thin the blood at all? although i wouldn't of thought they would do that so early on.

Your dad will be fine :)

When the gallstones were removed, there was a complication, they'd cut an artery in the process thus causing internal bleeding. Short after the surgery he couldn't move, so when the change the tubing and so on he was in ridiculous amounts of pain. That explains the screaming.

They haven't give him aspirin afaik. They've let the blood drain out via a tube and they're working on drying the areas in the complication.

Really sorry to hear this, my dad underwent a quadruple bypass last year after serious complications and several heart attacks, and seeing him in intensive care was awful.

Glad to say he's recovered and doing well now, I hope the same for you.

I thought I'd never see this day come, he's no returned back to us  :D

I saw his gallstones and they were very dark!

The good thing is, after 42 years he's now quit smoking. The bad thing is my father was slim, the amount of weight he's lost, has made him a skeleton like figure. It's truely shocking and upsetting to see this happen in such a short amount of time. My hands are fairly small, my thumb to my index finger can go round his ankles/wrists :(

Hopefully he will get better over time but in all honesty I'm more than greatful he's back with us.

It's been a shocking experience and it's only brought me closer to my parents. I will always be there for them, regardless of anything.

I thank those who supported me throughout this painful period.
