I need 3 pcs for work and they all need to be approximately the same spec.
These are data crunching machines, so need a decent processor. The gpu only needs to be good enough to power 3 monitors - no gpu acceleration will be utilized. Need quite a few SATA ports on the mobo, at least 6, as many SATA3 as possible. 512Gb of ssd storage is needed, alongside 4tb of standard hdd storage. Budget isn't too important, but bang for buck is. I dont need super fancy mobos etc, as no overclocking will be done. They just need to be stable and reliable.
I've come up with a basic spec, but am struggling to see the difference between Haswell and the older chips, is the higher price worth the boost in performance?
