Have any of you guys been over to the Neverwinter Nights 2 forums?

The game is getting something of a slating... mainly as a result of poor performance with decent/top end PC's.

Many people, who have machines that can handle the likes of Oblivion, are being pummled by wicked low FPS on NW2.

Bring on the patches!!!!

Can anyone with either collectors edition confirm whether the map is cloth or paper???

I'll be a bit annoyed if its not as advertised!

I had a peak this morning.

Not looking very good is it. Ill have my copy on Friday so ill wait to Judge until then.

Agreed. The proof is in the pudding, so to speak. Just found the whole thing quite amusing... the game isn't even out yet! I've got mine pre-ordered and expect it on the day of release.

According to the place I bought the LG edition from, it's clothe. Having just opened mine, clothe seems to be Atari-speak for shiny paper  It's also slightly bigger than the A3 - square with each side the same as A3 long-side.

On the box, it doesn't mention paper or clothe, just says 'Map of Neverwinter Nights world'.

What about the '40 page' Neverwinter Nights art book. Can you confirm the page count...

I've been reading the forums too (I really should do some work before my boss attacks me).

Whilst there does seem to be a few issues around (no fog? no way!) I'd like to point out that the forums will be a little biased at the moment. If it works, you play, if it doesn't you go to the forum, hence all the negative posts.

I'm sure they will improve performance in a patch or two. The map does concern me though, the chaotic evil le isn't cheap, I was looking forward to getting the cloth map and the dvd in a jewel case :(

It's 20 pages (sides) + covers - spiral bound textured card. It's specific to the LG edition - the CE will be different.

The case containing the actual DVD of the game is the bog-standard non-LE edition. NWN1 plus the music/graphics CD are in a separate shiny card slipcase.

I'm pleased with the figure - it's better than I was expecting. It's the Eldritch Giant from this page at WotC

All of this is in a huge case, like a book that's 10 inches tall, 8 inches deep and 3 inches thick.

Cheers for the info. Im starting to think the Oblivion collectors pack was cooler than this :(

Very true... however, it makes for a good read!

Bring back black Isle, poor performance is an issue, but not if i cn built my own charcter to an amazing in depth creation system them player with my best friends through custome compaigns.

lot to live up to.

Performance issues aside I wonder if this will be the game that Obsidian hits their stride with? Hopefully NWN2 will generate enough money for them to create a game that's truly their own :)

I don't expect the game to run at stupidly high resolutions with full detail enabled yet, so I doubt there's going to be too much of a problem...

NWN was a system killer for most when it first came out too.

People tend to forget that.

The problem is that everyone wants to run new games at the highest settings with the highest resolution. I was replaying NWN at the beginning of the year and it still looked good. I do not think it is always a good idea to compare very different types of games to Oblivion. I suspect that NWN2 has probably more going on concerning lighting, AI and detail. Oblivion does not really have much going on at one time. I may be wrong as I have not yet recieved my copy. If NWN2 is anything like NWN playing at lower resolutions will still look good.
