Neverwinter Nights 2 Getting a Hammering!

I just checked some screenshots on some of the reviews at Gamerankings. Yikes I hope those screens were not at max settings as they were not that impressive.

I remember some very impressive screenshots that were released by Bioware which looked very different to those in the reviews - what's up? I have not seen any player screenshots at the Bioware NWN 2 forum so if anyone has any links to player screens please post them.

Screenie from my machine, poor 9800XT is struggling like crazy :P



1440x900 everything max, no AA had 6 fps when screen shot was taken

Opteron @ 2.6Ghz, 2Gb ram, 9800XT default clocks.
 
thats because you clearly shouldnt be playing maxed out with that card as it doesnt cut it. lower res and settings, youll run it how you want it then. whats the point in putting everything on max then saying, "LOOK! I ONLY GET 1FPS, I WONDER WHY THAT IS"

No need to state the obvious, only put em to max so people can see what it looks like, you can't honestly think i would try playing it with only a few FPS lol.

Running everything at max for 1280x1024, and it looks lovely, so I'm happy :)
(amd4000+, 7800gtx, 2g ram)

Took the day off work to play it, I've been looking forward to it for a while & I'm enjoying the SP campaign immensely at the mo!

Aye flat m8 has the same setup pretty much and it does run pretty well, one thing i found though is by disabling water reflection/refraction my frame rate more than doubled even when water isn't even on screen.

Actually there’s a problem with the game. On a number of high-end systems for no apparent reason the game is running dreadful. My specs should run on high and auto detect settings puts most settings on high but I get 4fps. Yet my brothers system almost the same as mine runs on high at 30fps.

Reading the main forums lots of people have the same problems. There are a lot of people with high end systems who barely get 20 to 30fps with everything on low even with FSAA and AF off.

That's great news, matey! I haven't got my copy yet, should be delivered today... so I have my fingers crossed for a weekend of gaming!

As my set-up is similar to yours, I'll be looking forward to the game even more.

I can almost imagine the conversations once Crysis comes out, and everyones system melts!!!!!!

Maybe we should all start to consider dowgrading to a 15" CRT at 800x600 for Crysis!

I've got mine on order, so should be with me either today after work, or tomorrow morning. After reading these posts, and certainly those ones appearing on the NW2 forum, I am just as eager to see if the visuals are THAT bad, as I am keen to play the thing and get into the story!

While the visuals/gameplay/camera/system spec of thhis game had suffered a fair volly of concern, I'm still looking forward to installing the beast. Can't wait to be honest!

I think you've missed my point. Even with 100 computers you still can't check for everything.
