And the assumption that I'm implying that you are stupid now annoys me.

Congrats.

Anyways, back on topic.

Could anyone verify how important a role Neeshka would play later in the game?

How crucial is a rogue in the party if I already have knock to cover locked goodies?

I wanna know that too, really hate having her around, shes rubbish

She actually packs a fair punch and can out-damage a load of people. Problem is she is irritating!

My group never had someone to unlock anything, I was in the habbit of breaking everything. :D

Take her if you need her, leave her behind if you don't. If anyone is 'crucial' they get forced into your group.

Coolio, I find pallyboy's cleave, aura and spells to be more use than some tart with a bow :D

afraser2k has it spot on, her sneak attacks (won't work on the undead though) are handy, along with her in-close ability.

However, as I have mentioned already, man does she get on my nerves!

My regular party consists of:

Me (Wizard/Eldritch Knight)
Khelgar (main damage dealer)
Neeshka (for locks, traps and sneak attacks)
Zheiave (can't spell her name, but for resurrection)
Shandra (free party member)

I'm considering bringing back elanee, in place of the cleric, because her offensive spells are just so much better, but I don't think she has resurrection, which is an incredibly useful spell.

hmm just completed it lol.....the end battle just goes on and on and on..but it was satisfyingly big.
However I always hate when a game ends ;-( and hopefully there will be some expansion packs...

I didnt work out what that interdimensional sphere was for that the devil gave me half way through it though

This is not the place for spoilers or giving any hints of the storyline... please don't do it.

again I havent revealed anything..only that there is an item that does nothing.
However there are a few items in the game that act like this that apparently are meant to work with the collectors edition

since when does not being able to see mean your stupid? guy who sed he cant see the smaller writing without concentrating obviously you cant see properly, and if you get glasses, it doesnt make you stupid, far from it.

Perhaps you didn't see my post where I already said I have glasses and regular eye tests. The whole point was that I would have preferred the writing to be bigger. That's a matter of personal taste. I can read the standard text at 1600x1200 if I want, but I don't want to. I want bigger text. Is that some kind of crime?!?!!

before anyone asks (and a few people have mailed me!), Neverwinter Nights 2 works fine on Vista - just for those who have been mailing, remember you can no longer select EAX as DirectSound via Hardware is no longer a part of the OS.

OKay.. got this the other day and started playing it. I reckon I've come to the same conclusions as other people.

GFX engine sucks. Looks pretty but performance is dire. Here's hoping they make one of their patches an overhaul of the underlying engine. Unlikely I know, but still one can but hope. What on earth were they play testing it on? SLI'd 7900GTXs?

Gameplay - Pretty much what I've always loved in an RPG, good balance of fighting, quest and character development at the moment. I've done my usual and gone down the Monk's route, just prestiged to a Shadowdancer though I'm umming and ahhing whether that is particularly suited to my style. It'll work for now though. Flurry of Blows + Gloves of Yellow Rose + Circle Kick = lots of hits on multiple targets :D. Khelgar has a tasty Mace that does fire damage, and his Giant Cleave is knocking out enemies left right and centre too :D I'm really not happy with the AI for the druid. She's got a lot of decent spells memorised but hardly ever uses them instead seems to prefer to polymorph and fight.
It never seems to occur to her that healing spells are just as nice used on other people as on herself.

What is surprising me at the moment is how easy this game is on normal settings. I've only died twice, despite numerous fights. I know I'm good at RPGs, but not that good. Next time I roll a character I'm taking it up a difficulty notch.

I have a similar problem with her - even modifying her behaviour on her character sheet didn't make much difference. A far cry from NWN 1 where the sorceror companion would not only cast offensive spells from a distance, but would also cast stoneskin etc on YOU.

Err...

1) Use abilities - NO

2) Overkill spellcasting mode - YES

Job done!
