Who else is lagging?

my specs:
X6800
2Gb ram
7950gx2

And im lagging like a mofo, prolly around 15-30fps Lol

Turn Vsync off in the nvidia control panel and disable shadows in the game and you'll notice a huge improvement. NWN2 doesn't support triple buffering so vsync causes serious framerate drops if it can't manage 60fps

I've stopped playing now :( bit bored already.

I think I'll wait to see if they fix the bugs, the main annoyance being the camera. I like the top down one but it doesn't follow the player, even if you set it to in the ini.

I tried out D+D Online with the 7day pass thing, but what a load of rubbish that was :(

I might install NWN again.

its a shame about the bugs the one that really annoys me is that the character screen some times shows a different portrait to the stats that are being shown. I mean WTF surly some one has seen this

anyone know what would cause this to the sky...

Using a crappy GForce 7500le with latest drivers on XP mc edition, but every other game i have runs fine.

v-sync in my driver is application controlled. But my triple buffer is on, should i off it?

lol... currently fighting werewolves in a cave with Sand and Shandra and getting completely owned... damn Duskwood and it's anti-magic!

EDIT - Duh... I didn't go pick up my party members from the Inn... :D

Force V-sync off for the NWN2.exe file and you should notice an improvement. Triple buffering won't make much difference with nwn2.

Thanks, but I cant find a profile for nwn2.exe so I just set vsync off for global settings. I will see if theres performance difference now.

I'm just about to go to Jerro's Haven. Does anyone know how much more I have to do to complete the game? The really slow loading times are doing my head in but the story is quite interesting and I want to finish it off rather than stop playing and come back to it later.

You're just coming up to the end of act 2... You have a whole act to go yet, so you're about 2/3rds of the way through

Completed this last week, slightly disappointed with the ending (without giving too much away) though the final fights were decent if buggy (some crashes when spells went off).

Started again with a Tiefling Rogue this time aiming for assasisn and already gone into murdering the injured people in West Harbour. Playing it as a very chaotic evil character so wondering if I'll get the evil ending that is supposed to be different to the good one. :)

Crafting

Been blasting through with my Half-Orc Cleric currently Cleric 9 War Preist 3, almost to easy so far.

Trying to slow down and rather than just do the quests get into the crafting et all, however my character hasnt these skills. Any help on how I should level up / skill the NPC's to ensure I can start churning out custom weopons and armor to start with.

Well, if you look at the crafting list, you will see that various spells are needed for different types of items.

I found that the damaging spells from arcane casters tied in with weapons and armour, and the stat buff spells from druids/divine people for trinkets like rings and amulets.

As such, I gave the feat for magic weapon encahnting to Qara, and Craft Wonderous item to myself (druid). Get a few levels in Craft: ALchemy to distill items to get the essences you need, then all you need to do is find the needed gems as you plod along :)

I've just completed this with my 6 Ranger, 1 Sorc, 10 ArcArch and 3 NW9.

First of all, I found it tough as a Ranger. When I got my +5 Arrows as part of the AA skills I was doing moderate damage, but it was nothing compared the rest of the group. Plus, as Undead are a large chunk of the game, plus after every conversation I was at the front of the line, it made things tough. As pointed out, the OC isn't Ranger friendly!

*SPOILER ALERTS*

But I enjoyed it. IMO it doesn't hold a candle to BG2 for depth - the sidequests seemed few and far between, as all the quests seemed to be part of the main quest line. The romances were laughable - I didn't have the Druid bird in my party at all, gained no inf with her, then all of a sudden, she wants me in her bed. Poorly tacked on, IMO. I didn't think the characters had much, well, character. Influence seems to do nothing and has crap all bearing on the game, with the exception of the very end. At which point, Finger of Death takes care of any traitors....!

Spells seemed lacking - why the major changes? Where's Protection from Arrows/Weapons, the mighty "Time Stop" and Contingiency? To name a few.

The ending was cliche'd and poorly executed. "Never to be seen again...or will they....?" Oh please.

But its definately an 8/10 game - and enjoyable dungeon romp, lots of fun to be had, and I enjoyed parts of the big siege on the keep. Roll on the expansions, and meanwhile, I might try playing again but as a Monk.

I played it through with a Ranger and found it fairly simple. I'd taken Undead and Orc as my favoured enemies from the start though as I usually do that with Ranger characters in the tabletop game. I think it might be due to the challenge rating being suitable for lower level characters.

My damage was pretty poor but I had gone dual-weild for loads of attacks so could handle most situations. Khelgar was the main damage dealer though in my group.

Due to some weird circumstances, I have not been able to play this in a month.
Now that I'm back, I installed Vista and updated the NVN patch etc, and man this game is now running absolutely flawless! No more FPS dip, even while running Xfire, all settings pretty much maxed out.

Really gonna enjoy playing this again!! ... just hope I can remember the story, which I was enjoying so much :)

Thinking of getting this game, looking for a good RPG with multiplayer and this doesnt look half bad.

Any decent vids of walkthroughs or videos that show of the gameplay?

Also, what you guys think of the multiplayer on this?

one more thing, I played the start of neverwinter nights 1 at a mates house and really liked the whole pub thing, you would walk in and there were loads of people all doing things and it was really atmospheric, is number 2 like this ?
