Just wondering if any one has taken the plunge and bought a new imac yet, my pc just died on me this morning and i never use it for gaming any more just my photography work and editing now so am looking at getting the 24" 3.06ghz model

I was really pondering a purchase of one, but am leaning towards a Macbook now (attached to a 26" Samsung T260HD when in bedroom) for its portability.

Still not 100% lol. Been waivering for about 5 months now, ever since I saw a m8s stunning Unibody alu Macbook

really want one but am just having doubts about dual booting of windows and compatiablity(sp) of programs, would games like bf2 and cod4/5 run at the native res on the 24 inch screen with the new gt 130 and the 3.06ghz

GT130 scores around 6000 in 3DMark'06. That combined with good 2-core 3.06ghz CPU might be enough for your games.

On the second thought GT130 will struggle running modern games on 1920 x 1200.

I bought an iMac 09 recently, mostly for music editing, its a work of art, 4mb + 3.06Ghz its a quick beast too! worth the upgrade, I have not tried any games on it yet (not a big gamer) but M Photos look awesome, and photoshop runs extremely fast. the only bad thing about it is that is not portable! I bought the new unibody mbp for that very reason, and so far they preform as well as each other. but..... the way I treat my laptops, I think my iMac will be around for longer!

If you plan on running any games, get the ATI upgrade. Other than that, there wont be any issues running anything windows, as it runs native in intel hardware just like your PC.

yea getting the 4850 chip now, what are peoples thoughts on wired vs wireless keyboards and mice ??? is the AppleCare Protection Plan worth the extra then, vonhelmet i have a 360 that i use for most of my gaming its just nice to play a bit bf2 every now and then

I have the wireless apple keyboard matched with a Logitech Revolution. I like the keyboard a lot. It takes up no room on the desk and is really nice to type on.

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse will be poor in games. Way too much latency, especially on the mouse and theres also the fact the mighty mouse is a load of rubbish anyway.

Yeh im getting one, the 24" 3.06, 4850, 1tb harddrive, eventually 8gb ram, not worth me getting the pro, as its near as anyway, and ill get 2x24" screens then, just got to wait until there in stock :)

can u keep us updated as its going to be at least 4/5 month before i can get mine (they might drop the price by then lol well i hope so), i cant see how the can charge an extra £800 for an 8gb upgrade on the memory
