New 27" Advice please.

Even though you could only power 4K on low-medium I would get it anyway as one of those monitors will last you for years, plus they look awesome. You could then upgrade the GPU when the 20/16nm GPU's arrive which will then power it at much nicer settings :)

I have the AOC and play Titanfall and BF4 and do not notice any lag. I'm no pro gamer but to my eyes it looks ok. I can even play Sonic on the AOC which on the Dell turns to a blurry mess... :)

I sent back the Dell U2713HM for the bleed, and yellow corners.
Going back to my 1200p...snifff

Hmm AOC eh?

Does it have a Headphone socket ..anyone..bueller?

Too early for me.

I'm going to give it another year or so, aiming for xmas 2015, maybe even 2016.

I don't see the point in rushing to run at crap fps ( not to mention fighting with scaling on the desktop e.t.c ) when I can run fine at 1440p until 4k gets established, then buy a cheaper, better 4k monitor and use the 1440p as my second screen ;)

Yes.

I'm still stuck with my 9 year old Dell 2005 FPW, but I only use it for desktop stuff.

Gaming is all done on my Panasonic 55" 1080p Plasma.

I've been looking in to monitors recently, and the AOC really does look great but I can't justify getting one at the moment unless the price comes down.

Not with 4k + Displayport 1.2a (Freesync) monitors hopefully less than 6 months away.

Just in case you missed it in another thread, they are currently going with small reduction here on OC :

I just picked one up, not yet hooked up, but build quality looks fine.

I did see that, but they also used to sell them at £329.99.

That's my sweet spot really, otherwise I'll just save the cash and wait for a 4k monitor that won't break my PC in half.

"insert random korean name"

Really never looked back from purchasing mine, yeah warranty is a pain but as long as you can accept that, well pretty much theres no warranty :p

I don't like running monitors less than native res, never looks great. PS4 on my Dell U27 looked awful. I also think it's a silly time to get a 4k in advance because there will be far better panels and maybe prices closer to the time when you don't need to be a millionaire to play a game at 60fps in 4k.

That's sound advice.

I did cave in and got the AOC Q2770pqu.

It arrived yesterday and I'm really pleased with it. I changed the default colour setting to 'User' and dropped the brightness down to 50 (default is 90) and I'm really happy with the image quality.

So far I only tried Mass Effect 3 on it, but didn't notice any ghosting.

Being able to properly use 2 applications side by side is great though, Can now take advantage of Windows 8.1 snap feature properly.

I freaked out at first because it wasn't displaying a picture

I hadn't switched DVI leads though, I was still trying to use the one I had with my 9 year old Dell 2005 FPW, rather than the one in the AOC box.

Turns out the lead I had didn't have the full amount of pins, so I swapped them over and voilà, it worked.
