Just purchased a 2Tb Western Digital Green drive for use in a USB3 enclosure.
Installed, plugged in USB.
Disk is unpartitioned and new out of package.
Disk Manager tries to initialise disk and fails with cyclic redundancy check error.
Model is WD20EARX. It says its an Advanced Format Drive but their website suggests nothing needs to be done for Windows 7/8 or USB.
Also tested in another caddy on different PC with same result.
Assuming drive is DOA?
