Well as title really initially i was thinking of the Gigabyte M34WQ but after a couple of reviews mentioned a 34" flat panel can be to wide to see the edges clearly got me looking at curved which then i had my eyes on a Alienware AW3423DWF OLED at £780 but reading a topic earlier i was thrown a curveball of the AOC Agon 34" AG346UCD thats a more reasonable £550. Interested in your thoughts or anyone that owns either monitor.

I have the Philips Evnia 34" OLED and it's spot on tbh, paid around £500 for it which is a cracking price.

I believe the AOC and most other OLED monitors in that price range pretty much use the same panel, if looking for an OLED right now I'd argue 34" ultrawides are easily where the best deals are.

Are there better monitors? Absolutely, but not to the point they're worth spending 50% more on in my opinion.

I'd have bought the Phillips, but it was out of stock everywhere when I decided to pull the trigger. So ended up with the AOC instead.

£500 for the Phillips is a great deal.

I think quite a few people caught onto the prices tbh, if able to buy now I'd suggest anyone to do so on the AoC as I suspect growing demand is going to result in prices rising in the near future.

The Evnia is back in (limited) stock last I checked, but for £650 + for the black, and £580 + for the white.

Thanks ill compare the prices and go with the best deal, it did appear they all used the same panel but was unsure i think theres a Gigabyte version also. Makes the Alienware one seem a bit expensive when compared to the others if they all have a 3 year warranty. If going for the Evnia ill have to stump up the extra for the black version.

If the AOC is £550 I'd just go for that if a black frame is a necessity.

There's honestly not much difference between them, the backlighting is nice on the Evnia but it's not worth £100-150 over the AOC.

Yup, the prices on the Evnias have gone up.

I'd get the AOC now, even though Ambiglow is EXCELLENT as bias lighting (static white mode).
In my case, it was a no-brainer as I got mine in December for 440 but now I'd get the cheapest one available as the panel is the same with all its upsides and downsides. If someone wants an Evnia though, the free headphones promo is still on:)

Can't really fault it except mine is a bit tilted to the right on the factory stand and the coating is incredibly hard to keep clean while being very easy to scratch but I'll just have to live with it, I guess. On the plus side, it has zero buzzing noise and has great gray uniformity, very little banding visible.

You can't really go wrong with any of these as long as you know what you're getting into and you don't pay a 1000.

Would something like the Samsung Odyssey G7 LS32DG702EUXXU 32" be better?

4K UHD IPS Gaming Monitor with Speakers - 3840x2160, HDMI 2.1, 144Hz, 1ms, Full Smart Platform, USB Hub, Displayport, Freesync Premium Pro, Height Adjust

Depends on the GPU to an extent as 4K isn't easy to run, so-so HDR too.

I'd go for a 34" (Ultrawide) OLED every time, better picture quality, better HDR, faster refresh rate, easier to run.

I say that as someone who games on a 4K TV and a 34" Ultrawide, but if I was forced to choose one over the other and the TV was an IPS?

It's not where my money would go for gaming purposes.

Think the AOC is the one im going to go for, Samsung looks nice although at 4K i dont have the GPU to run it and is a flat panel and is why the Gigabyte M34WQ is off the cards due to people mentioning viewing at the edges on a large screen. Ive not actually viewed one in person but i do like the idea of a curved screen.

I think no matter the choice there is always a compromise somewhere especially at the price point

It's an excellent choice tbh, the lesser known OLED models are creeping up in price as people catch on so it's a good time to buy.

Just checked the price of the AOC and it has suddenly jumped up to £669.95 overnight lol.

Yup.

I said that would happen earlier, they're fantastic monitors but launched at low prices compared to the competition to draw interest/spread word of mouth.

The white Evnia is still around the £580 mark last I checked.

Could someone with the AOC take a photo of their screen showing text please (on these forums would be fine)

Thanks
