New 34" monitor

That is a good deal on the Acer Predator X38S. I might look at other Acer Predator X line, seems as my X34 has been great with no issues.

If you have access to the MM, someone's selling a Alienware 38" AW3821DW Gsync Ultimate HDR Monitor (very similar to the Acer Predator X38S) for £390 collected

34" UW is a really awkward size, if your going UW 38 would be the minimum, i had a Samsung 34 and returned to go back to my 32".
screen real estate felt smaller

i went from a 32" to a 34UW and it about the screen size as a 32" but stretched out. so depending on wheat you do... in my case gaming it can feel much smaller
but what you come frame can make a differance

I think most are likely coming from a 27" 1440P or 24" 1080P in fairness, I can imagine a standard HD 32" to an ultrawide 34" might be a touch jarring.

There's occasionally decent deals on 42-48" OLED TV's that might be worth a look if you have the space, some models are just as good if not better than monitors for gaming.

I've used both curved and straight 34" panels and this is not true for me for either and I disliked the curve on the 34" I owned.
In an ideal world it would be nice to spend 30 mins on both before buying on your own real usage and make a decision, i hesitated for to long and have missed the AOC price and as it has increased im back to looking as im not paying the increased price compared to what it was. The flat Gigabyte IPS was £400 although this was also nearer £300 at one point and the AOC was £550ish. I liked the idea of a curve and OLED. Always a compromise no matter what decision is made although id hate to buy and dislike it.

depends on the curve Mine is quite gradual. Ideally from your viewing postion you want it to look like it's a flat screen. Which aoc was you interested in?

It was the AOC Agon 34" AG346UCD although its had a significant price increase recently

ah yes I see, just used price checker site, gone up fair amount bit of a bargain, 34" huge screen. I thought it was IPS but it's an oled! Which gen?

The AoC and some of the Philips Evnia models use the same panel, they were available for around £500-550 for a good while, sometimes even in the £450 range with the Philips.

Pretty sure they use the same panel as the Alienware AW3423DW, but don't quote me on that.

I'm running an Evnia and it's fantastic tbh.
