Ok so my old 360's ethernet port has kicked the bucket for some reason maybe a power surge or something stupid microsoft want 70 odd quid to repair it! (Ain't they got enough money?) So I might as well buy a brand new one.

So whats the best one to go with now days in terms of smaller processing unit ect... I heard there is a 45nm? I'm looking for the best elite money can buy, what should I be looking for when I buy one of these bad boys.

i would be inclined to open it up first, it could just have lost the connection to the mobo and be a simple solding task, never know..

wont be a soldering job afaik

Could just be a case of You need to do a X-clamp replacement.

Let me know if you need any help or more details as i buy in fix then sell on a lot of consoles

X-Clamp replacement would fix an ethernet port?

I'd prefer to get a elite if I could just buy a new one rather than a arcade as I'd prefer a bigger HDD ect.. I wouldn't know where to start soldering I'm gonna sell my current xbox as it works perfectly fine except for the ethernet port. How would I be able to fix it with a x-clamp stuartbat also what is x-clamp?

As not to open up a new thread, anyone know what the going rate is for a broken xbox, going to sell mine as I can't fix it.
