New 4tb WD Red drive not seen in Windows

Just purchased new new WD red 4tb nas drive.

Come to format it for the first time & windows doesn't see the drive at all.

Tried it installed in the PC & in an enclosure & the same result for both.

Is there something obvious I'm missing or do I have a dodgy drive?

Assuming the BIOS sees the drive, initial setup is in Computer management - Disk management in windows.

As firestar said, control panel > admin tools > computer management > disk management

Initialise the disk and then format. It will then appear in windows

Bios doesn't see the drive either.

Also tried swapping out my 3tb WD blue from the PC & putting the new 4tb Red in, & the same result in it not being seen.
I'm guessing I have a DOA drive?
