Assuming I can get a 5090 FE, I will be putting together a new build. I have no care for RGB or case visuals. Main requirements are for as quiet operation as possible. As well as a black case that fits in my under desk mount (Height: 354 - 543mm / Width: 170 - 300mm / Weight: Up to 25kg).

I play at 4k 120fps and want them frames.

Current build I have put together is as follows:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,711.84 (includes delivery: £11.98)

You could save some money on a cheaper cpu cooler something like a Artic Liquid freezer 3, do you need 8000mhz ram?

Would advise you to go 6000mhz c30 which optimal for AM5 you should be able to 64gb for that price if needed.

Main requirements are fo
you're going to need a PSU with x2 12vhpwr connectors for the 5090, but everything that has that is out of stock right now
some of the thermaltake toughpower psus have them, namely the gf3 1650, but good luck getting one, here or elsewhere, I have looked), oh but wait, I have found one elsewhere now! put "gf3 1650" into google and click the shopping tab, it's the first result.

I’m only building with FE which just needs 1 with 600w support which this psu offers.

Price isn’t really the issue. I’d rather pay more to get best perf. Esp as I only want the FE model which is the cheapest.

i didnt mean money was tight, just for £2k on the FE if you get one at MSRP... but upto £2.7k for some after market that's just not ok

mosy of the GPU's only have one power plug

wow, all that fuss over nothing, looks like the 5090 might be back on the table for me then, hopfully the price won't be too bad come my savings maturity, I wonder if I will be able to afford 8k as well? that is going to be an expensive month

So slower would be better for am5?
In a way yes especially for gaming as anything above 6000mhz the cpu memory clock ratio changes from 1:1 to 2:1 making it slightly slower until around 7200nhz . Granted the kit you chose is 8000mhz but this frequency may be hard to achieve and keep stable without further tweaking.

There will be minimal performance difference so it's a wiser/safer choice to go 6000mhz C30 plus the price.

In fact I did :)
Now that you did I will now take the time to make more constructive comments.

As mentioned, you are well overpaying for components that add no performance benefits to the build. They're just the most expensive.

Recommendation:
Aio: arctic liquid freezer 3
Ram: as already mentioned, 6000 C30 is the sweet spot
Mobo: unless you need the connectivity, b850 mobo is sufficient. All b850/x870 mobos will handle a 9950x so nothing to differentiate them once built

Yes money may not be an issue, but that's £350 saved with wiser choice of components than just plumping for the most expensive.
