New 5D3_ Early shots

Great idea on the breakfasts. I like the way you've processed the shot, but I feel the dof is unnecessarily small, being only focused on a small piece of bacon as it is. I'm not a food photographer at all, but for me, the shot would be better if a bit more was in focus.

I'm sure it was very tasty though! :)

Partially agree but I would have focused on the coffee!

Thanks Snow Patrol & Snips....kinda find myself agreeing with you too, sometimes I do have a tendency to think 'I have a large aperture lens...I WILL use it wide open !'
Thanks for the constructive comment tho :-)

i'm extremely guilty of this. Sometimes one just really has to force oneself to stop down a bit

well yes Raymond, I'm sure that would be good....but what I'd like right now is the fry up pictured with mini pot of beans ..Yumm! (and it would have been nice if I'd picked a matching fork and spoon for my shot ! )

Lol, that mini pot, yes, costs a small fortune for what it is but it certainly makes the plate a lot neater for photos.

Hi,
Not anything dramatic.....I did resort to AI Servo for shooting my brothers kids whizzing around the garden and it behaved impeccably (as you expect seeing as it has the same focus system as the 1DX (minus the dedicated processor ))
