New a 1920x1080 monitor

League of Legengs and Wow won't present any troubles for a fast IPS monitor like the Dell U2312HM.

As for FPS, it really depends what kind of games you are playing. If it's really mainly really fast paced stuff like CSS or Quake live then you really want a very responsive 120Hz TN panel monitor (or CRT) to reduce ghosting as far as possible and offer smoother movement in such a fast twitch-based game. However, if you are playing games like say BF3 then a monitor like the Dell should be perfectly fine and offer you all the image quality benefits that an IPS panel brings to the table.

Yea, call of duty games will be fine on the Dell.

As before, 120Hz would offer smoother feeling motion - but a good IPS monitor shouldn't be a hindrance in this type of game and you gain the better image quality due to the IPS panel.

Hi,

I know this is a bit of a down grade from the types of monitors you guys are talking about but earlier in the thread you were talking about a cheaper budget so i was just wondering if you had any info on using the Philips E-line 227E3LSU as a monitor?

I'm not a currently a gamer and on a budget of about 100 but would like it to be able to cope with the odd casual game in future. I'm thinking the lg or the Benq you mentioned earlier as i've found them both for similar prices. Any thoughts?
