New AdBlocker Recommendations

Until yesterday I have used uBlock Origin on both my PC and Laptop. However from today Chrome has removed it from it's extension. I was unaware it has been phased in and possibly I am one of the last to lose it.
I would like to continue to use Chrome browser and would appreciate any workaround or a recommended alternative Ad blocker. Thanks.

Do you rate it over PiHole? What do you think of it? Is there much config needed? Does it do DNS hosting?

For me it fits my use case perfectly

- Web GUI is much easier to use and the configuration source is in YAML so easily portable

- Per client/group configuration, application blocklists like tinder, tiktok, gaming etc

- Per client/group DNS upsteams - which is amazing - ie some clients will use cloudflare, google DNS servers whilst say the kids will go through adguard family filter or other strict DNS

PiHole on the other hand was a mess, I could achieve the above goals with it but not so easy
I'll have to check if PiHole has improved since I last used it though

What about NextDNS ad-blocking at £18 a year, anyone tried it?

I went with ALD's suggestion and added uBO Lite. So far it seems adequate for my simple needs. Time will tell. Thanks for the other recommendations.
