Out of curiosity, why did chrome removed Ublock Origin?

The cynical view is because Google don't like adblockers, but obviously the Lite version has been around for months and unaffected.

Officially I believe it's to do with Google deprecating all Manifest V2 plugins, and I guess it was easier to develop a new plugin on V3 than to update uBlock origin. Apparently people who code adblockers were having discussions with Google about how to modify V3 to better support adblockers, so if that is true then it doesn't seem so much like they're clamping down on adblockers... and apparently the Lite version also doesn't need so many permissions to achieve similar ends.

I'm Ok now with my PC and laptop. However my wife has now the same problem on a Chromebook. Can I ask whether I can install a third party Adblocker on her CB, is it taboo on OC forums to ask and/or can someone point me to where I can find out, thanks.
EDIT: I hadn't realised that I installed uBO when she bought it 3 years ago. I have therefor installed Lite to it also. TBH I never touch her laptop as CB are alien to me.

I gave Adblock for youtube and chrome a try, and its worked excellent and still does a similar if not same job as Ublock origin which no longer works on chrome.
