Time has come to jump the BT ship

Currently i have BT option 4 'upto' 8mb but i get 4mb and my contract ran out a month back , i use P2P but not often prolly only a couple of files a week if that but i want to be able to download at full speed when >I< want not when my ISP tells me i can

I play online games BF2 and the likes, i dont live in a cable area so thats out the question, samknows tells me i can get these:

BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale SDSL
Be LLU
Bulldog LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Tiscali LLU

Im looking for summat around the 25quid a month mark, so is it going to be sky ? or BE ? , good customer service would be nice and a quality connection of course without many downtime hours, which would you suggest ?

I was in the same situation as you. Just phone them up and simple ask for a MAC (migration authorization code).

Can't remember the number but the normal (useless) broadband help department gave it to me.

cool, so if i ask for the mac code and tell them im moving they will cut me off straight away will they ? BE says it takes 3 weeks to set up or summat so i could be offline for 3 weeks ? :(

Nah, you get cut off from BT for about 2-3 hours on the activation day. Be took 8 days to activate my line, I was only offline for a few hours during the whole process.

ok so BT will leave my line active till BE unplugs me from them and switches over to them , then i just settle my account money wise with BT and jobs done ?

You sort the account (billing etc) when you first subscribe with Be (once you get your MAC).

Once you've gave your MAC to Be, that's it. Wait 8 days and you'll be connected.
