New alloys

Im glad your happy with it, its a really good car and for what you paid I don't think you would have found a better one.

I would really consider getting the Evolve map put on, I think its well worth 400 quid you will see close to 380 bhp on your car. I will do my wife's car when I get back to the uk and let you know how it is.

Cheers, yeh it really is a lovely, lovely car. And very well kept! Yeah, do let me know about the evolve, i'm not looking to do anything at the moment, but it's inevitable that it will happen sometime in the future so might as well find out about it.

I don't get it, are LSD's all they're cracked up to be? I thought it was only really good if you had a car that was very powerful so you could launch out of corners quickly without spinning both your rear wheels. Maybe i'm doing it wrong, but i've never had the TC light flash when i'm blasting out of corners, so i'm guessing an LSD would be kind of wasted on me?

The 335 has an "open diff", you will never spin both wheels even with traction control off. As soon as one loses grip all the power is passed to that wheel and you lose momentum. Fitting a "limited slip diff" as soon as one wheel starts to lose traction the power is passed over to the other side so the wheel with most grip always has the more power. The traction control is good but holds the car back and most days the TC light is flashing away . . . or was before the change of Diff.

I used to have the TC light appear most days and that's not "pushing" it.:p Ride is better, traction is much better and the whole car feels planted now.

Sounds pretty neat! Can't say I do all that much sliding in my car though :p

I jest :p

Limited Slip Differential: if i understand it correctly, it's most useful when you are coming out of a bend and you want to get the power down hard - if you have a car with a lot of power, this would mean you would spin up the rear tyres (particularly the inside wheel), break traction and end up backwards.

However, with a LSD, it can balance the level of grip for the driven tyres and if a wheel breaks traction (normally the inside wheel i think because the weight is transferred off it when going around a bend) it can send (a portion of?) that wheel's power to the other wheel which has more traction available (due to all the weight being put on this wheel in the bend). Therefore both driven wheels have grip, the full power is still going down to the road and so you shoot out of a bend and don't spin. Of course, it can't defy the laws of physics, so if you over do it too much, both rear wheels can lose traction which equals a spin!

Feel free to correct - this is just my basic understanding.

Prefer the old to the new but if I'm honest I don't personally like either but I do like the ones linked above :)

Still think 225s are the nicest oem wheels

Those 269s are a bargain, if I hadn't just bought some new fronts I'd definitely be buying them. He must be making a massive loss on those. 225M is still my favourite wheel for the E92 though, the 269 seems to lack the dish on the rear wheels. Just a shame the 225Ms have the cracking issue, but I guess there's no guarantee that the 269 doesnt have it either, there's not many sets around so you probably wouldnt hear about it.

I need 3 new tyres and 3 of my wheels are kerbed so I deffo thinking about getting these 269s. There are a set of 313s on Ebay at the moment with tyres but I've had no response from the seller re: the tyre/wheels condition.

Dr House where did you get your 313s from, who did the interior wrap of your trim?

Thanks

my wheels are replica's, I got them from BMAutoSport for 550+ tyres. I have had a total of 4 rear oem alloys crack on me so I thought I would give replica alloys a go.

The interior trim was wrapped buy signshop in sheffield, the did a very good job on the car but I had some problems with them and would not recommend them based on the issues I had. It was really down to bad management, bad communication and overcharging but the finished product was good
