New AMD CPU

OK so I'm looking to change/upgrade my FX 4100 CPU ( Not OC'ed )....but im not sure if i should go with a 4 core 6 core or even an 8 core Bulldozer , or maybe think about one of the Piledriver CPUs ?...any helpful advice would be appreciated thanx

The piledriver is the upgraded model of the Bulldozer. It's got something like 20% more performance to the Bulldozer. You've also got an unlocked multiplyer which is great to overclock.

I've seen some running borderline 5.1ghz with very good temps.

You upgrading your mobo too?

nahh sadly not ( low funds lol )...if i was to go with a new mobo , think i would go the Intel way lol

Depending on your budget, I would reccomment the hex-core. My FX6100 is a beauty running at 4ghz. You can allways check AnandTech to give you a better idea.

i love my 8320 wud run at 8350 speeds easily if i had a better mobo clocks to 4.6 easily.

4+1 VRM means they get hot fast.

Yeah, 4+1 isn't good the the 8 core vishy, mine is 10 + 2 and even i'm dreading the VRM temps when i get the Chip.
