Great value for money from AMD with these processors! :)

For games I would still buy a Intel i5 3570K but if your application and work load can use all 8 cores these do then out perform even the 3770K :) single threaded or abit of single and multithreaded tasks still leave Intel with a big lead !

Still this is a massive improvment over the old FX-Faildozer CPU's.

Bloody silly price by the way for launch day :D

Well my 8350 should be first out of the door of your spanking new warehouse. If not why not?

Are you going to do a mini Review for us Gibbo?

With the move, just not got the time right now sorry. :(

However from testing an eight core 5GHz with say a Prolimatech Megahalem is possible which is a big advantage with the new Piledriver cores. As the older Bulldozer have big thermal issues beyond 4.6GHz, wheras Piledriver does not suffer as bad.

Piledriver is certainly an improvement, but the best part is its OC ability. :)

The bottom line is that the Piledriver FX series provides a quick, affordable upgrade for folks still using lower-end K10 hardware, but there isn't a lot to see for those running high-end Phenom II X4 and X6 processors, regardless of how cheap the new parts may be. For those building a fresh rig from scratch, Ivy Bridge will likely still be more attractive thanks to its superior single thread performance and efficiency

dissapointing again

I'd love to know how they think it's a cheap upgrade for low-end k10 users when most k10 users will still be using am2+/am3 boards that dont support BD or PD :/ they'll need a new board as well as a cpu, might as will go with IVY at that point
