new amd x2 64 CPU Or more memory ??????.

afternoon all ;-)

i have just had some tax back...... . lucky me haha

but i am thinking what to do should i upgrade my memory to 4GB using the same as in my rig profile ie 2gb more of corsair DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX ?

or

upgrade now to a nice amd 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.00GHz ???

or wait till the new AM2+ or AM3 ????????? if they fit my asus crosshair mobo.

also i am using x64 pro sp2 but i will be getting vista x64 Ultimate maybe in the next 4 or 6 months after i get 2 new wd 500gb hard drives so i can dual boot between x64 pro & vista x64 Ultimate.

i might wait untill the new am2+/am3 cpu's come out but when will that be ????.

If the cpu does everything you want it to and isnt slowing u down in games why upgrade?

OP, you are looking at at least June before the new AMD stuff comes out - IMHO if you don't need to upgrade right now I'd bank the cash and wait till then, I think the new chips will be nice

You might be looking at upgrading your ram to DDR3 too when the new AMD chips come out, something to consider..

cheers mate, i would love to keep my mobo & memory if poss as i only got the rig last oct ! & the 8800 a few months ago.

so i will save & ait till the new amd am's come out & see what i can do.
