Hi guys,

I've entered all my phone contacts on my new Note 2, and at the top before I entered each contact, it asks where I want to store my contacts, phone, google or sim, I chose Google for them all, but I can't see them in gmail (thinking it was the same service as microsoft do) so where are my contacts actually stored, and how would I get them back without re-typing them all should I reset the phone (or buy a new one?)

Thanks :)

Any new phone will automatically download the contacts as soon as you enter your Google account details on first boot.

Ah, so they are just hidden, and automatically sent to the new device, I guess I've done the right thing then, saves me doing it again in the future? :)

Either you don't have contact sync on or they're not actually saved on your Google account. Go into the settings and check your contacts/people sync.

Bingo!

Thanks, went into main phone settings and found sync contacts was disabled by default, strange as I had chosen Google as my contacts holder so it should have been on? All sorted now, thanks chaps :)
