New Apple Mouse (and keyboard) On The Way?

Ive managed to right click ona mighty mouse for the past 9 months without having to lift my left finger off!
Much prefer my Logitech MX Rev but the mighty mouse is ok, until you get crap stuck on under the ball!

You can't right click on a mighty mouse without lifting the other finger... You physically can't, it's how they work. Seriously next time you do it, watch. You lift your finger.

I've just tried it - I'm using it right now - and it doesn't make a difference if I take my left finger off or not

That's what I was thinking.

Due to the Mighty Mouse’s touch-sensitive nature, it doesn’t only consider pressure as a means of input like a regular mechanical button mouse. It also knows where you’re touching. If you’re resting your left finger on the top of the mouse while clicking with your right finger, the Mighty Mouse doesn’t know which one you meant to use and automatically reverts to the default left-click. You must lift your left finger off the mouse completely — at least a centimeter above the surface — for a right-click to register.

I bought both the mouse and the bluetoof keyboard from the refurb store recently. Both were £38. The mouse has to be the worst POS I have ever used. It tracks poorly on my desk surface, which every other mouse is fine on, and the DPI must be rather low...

I also feel its a waste of £38.

I think the mighty mouse is flawed not only with the right click but the scroll ball is terrible, needs constant cleaning to keep it working. I still use my mighty mouse though but look forward to an upgrade.

I really like the keyboard, I use a natural keyboard at work but don't feel that I need one at home, the Apple keyboard (wired, with numeric keypad) works really well. It's certainly not a case of style over substance or form over function for me.

The only way it could be improved is for there to be a wireless version with numeric keypad as far as I'm concerned.

As for the Mighty Mouse, well that's another story. I used one for about half a day and then it was put back in the box and it's never been out since.

I've also just noticed something after reading this thread. Subconsciously I do seem to lift my left finger when I right click!

The elevation is non-adjustable just so that they could hide the USB ports out of sight.

A laptop keyboard is a compromised version of a standard keyboard - they shouldn't be going in the other direction.

I had a standard keyboard for 10 years+ before getting my Wireless Mac keyboard and I never ever had the need to use the number pad. It's definitely the right direction to be going in.

Oh - I didn't mean the optional lack of NumPad. IMO that's a good thing for ergonomics since your mouse isn't way off to the side if you're right-handed.

It's six of one really, some people will use the numeric keypad (I use it a lot) and others won't use it at all. Give us both options!
