New av receiver advice

I have the sub crossover set to 90Hz and the LFE to sub only. You really don't want the very low frequency going to the 2010 speakers. This is more for people who have large fronts...

I have my sub settings on rear of sub all set as it says in the manual and it's at 120hz I think on the settings on the amp. I have lowered the volume switch on the amp to about a quarter of a turn as it's a very powerful amp the manual says half (50%) but I find that to much.

All my other speakers are at 80hz

The Crossover wheel on the sub has an AV setting just past the 150Hz. If you set it to that and set the crossover on the AMP. The Sub crossover is there if you are using an AMP without a crossover. This is how mine is set up...

Pretty sure mine is set on av as well, think that's what it suggests in the manual

Do you think 120hz is to high for the sub? I let audessey set my speakers up but I guess that's not always precise

Weird problem just occurred

I started netflix on my bluray player and started watching a film and noticed the sub was still in standby

Come out of netflix put a movie disc in with a Heavy bass soundtrack and the sub went on

Come back out started netflix again and the same movie sub was on but it has gone off again, the film I'm watching is not very bass heavy but I don't think the sub should be going off?

Any ideas

Just turned the level up to about 7+ db and the sub came back on when a few bassy parts came on the film, odd.

Maybe I need to turn the volume knob up on the sub as I don't really want it at 7db

It's coming on when there are bassy parts, I'm guessing the frequency is so low it's not detecting it until there are heavy parts.

What level do have for your sub?

Cheers

I have put my sub level up to 50% and put sub level on about -6db and also changed auto on sensitivity from medium to high.

See how that goes.

I did notice as well that when I turned my amp back on it had reset my speaker levels after adjusting them a little.

Funnily enough the front panel on my Onkyo 607 died a while ago, so thought I'd treat myself to a AVR-X2000. Looking forward to setting it up with the Q Acoustics :)

I have it off I think. I generally don't use any EQ.

yeah same, I have tried it on and off, think I prefer off but have recently had it on to see if the increased bass would improve my sub coming on in quite scenes.

Im going to rerun Audyssey this time with sub gain at about 20% and after Audyssey has configured everthing maybe increase sub level on AVR up to about +5db to see if that keeps my sub on.

I also put auto on sensitivity to high and it still went off in quite scenes but doing the above might fix it as before I had gain at 45% and avr sub level at -5db.

I have not had any problems with my sub. I have it on high and it pretty much comes on when the receiver is on. Even setting it low it still rumbles away...?

The problem has only occured when I have watched netflix with dolby digital plus soundtracks and both films were not heavy with bass.

All films I watched over the weekend were on disc and were action/scfi so heavy with bass and the sub was on from start to finish.

Unsure if its a dolby digital thing?

weird whatever it is.

Do you know what level your sub is on, on your AVR by any chance?

thanks

well that lasted long, seems to have gone wrong!

ps4 suddenly lost signal tried different connections and cables no luck!

now I turn the Denon on and my tv cant find the source!

Return I think and maybe try something else or get a replacement, so disapointed:mad::(

It does, It was working yesterday.

Today I attempted to play my ps4, no signal was getting through, I then tyied my bluray player which worked.

But now I cant even get the Denon to show on my tv!

Unsure weather to get a replacement or money back, I have filed a return form on Amazon
