Hello guys, I think I need to replace a battery in my VW Passat B6 2006 1.9tdi. Recently, I've noticed that If I do not drive my car daily, e.g. for 2 days, it doesn't want to start up the first time. Usually 3rd attempt with a tug. But if I drive it daily it starts first time with a minimal tug. Additionally, when measured the voltage when not driving the car for 2 days the voltage was 10.8

I'm not sure which battery should I go for? Eurocarparts have a selection of LION, EXIDE, Duracell and Bosch batteries whereas GSF has Vtech, Banner, Bosche and Yuasa batteries. Any recommendations and experiences with any of them?

I'm only having an aftermarket stereo installed in my car so no huge demand but I want the battery to be reliable and ideally last for roughly 5 years ish. The current one installed in my car is a VTech battery which I had since 2007.

I know you haven't mentioned them but the next battery replacement for me will be a Varta I had one on a previous car which lasted for 9 years.

Out of those you've listed, I'd also go with Bosch

Whatever is cheapest out of LION (probably this), Duracell, Exide, Banner, Bosch or Varta. The latter three are all OE suppliers to car manufacturers.

Your current Vtech (never heard of them, unless they're the same people who make childrens toys?) has lasted over a decade, so if the next one even lasts half of that it will be long enough that you probably won't even have the car anymore!
