New BETA catalysts (again)

Powerplay doesn't work correctly if you OC your card. If the card is at stock clocks it will idle at 157/300, if theres any OC it will idle at 400/1200. Making a profile with custom clocks makes no difference :(

I'm sure that's to fix the issues with multiple monitors?

is that using msi afterburner with a flashed bios? i love this powerplay, and if these new drivers mess it up, i dont think i'll be upgrading just yet
 
Mine seems to idle with higher clocks as well - 400/1300 compared to 157/300 with previous drivers. The memory clock will actually drop to 900 when playing any HW accelerated video.

PowerColor 5870 using MSI BIOS and MSI Afterburner with a single U2410 via DP.

Broken Hope, I've dropped my clocks to default and ran the test, can't recall the previous scores with past drivers so you'll have to let us know if it's any great improvement.

That's around 800-900 points higher than I normally get so looks like 2D performance has been increased.
 
For people with clocking issues fully uninstall the drivers and when its finished, reinstall them, then reboot your machine and see if that fixes it. It appears when overwriting previous versions of the drivers, problems start appearing.

Not a 100% fix though, just a potential one.
 
The rolling flickery lines are still present in BFBC2 for me, aarrgghh

I installed the application profiles that were with them aswell, will grab the latest and test again.

Did you uninstall your previous set using the catalyst install manager or overwrite your older drivers?

I unistalled from control panel, then I also go and find all hidden ati files and manually delete them all, reboot and install the new ones, then reboot twice after.

Tried without the application profiles and still get flickery lines, tried with the latest application profiles and still flickery

They aren't a release per say, its a good old fashioned leak mate lol. These are very early beta drivers from a catalyst version nearly 2 months away. As with all betas, you need to try them for yourself to say if they are actually rubbish or not as everyone gets different performance and stability with every driver set known to man lol
