New bicyle for commuting

Going to pop into Evans later today, take a look at that Trek 1.5 :) as standard do most of these come with standard pedals? I don't want to have to get the ones that clip in :p

Went to Evans today and they weren't very helpful at all so went to another place to have a look what they have available.

I've never tried a road bike before so taking a test ride on one tomorrow :D

I'm now looking at a Cannondale Synapse Carbon 105 which is a bit more expensive than what I was first looking at (around £1150) but is carbon not aluminium, willl check out another place today and see what they recommend

If you going up to that budget then have a look at the Boardman bikes from Halfords. I tried out the Team and Team Carbon the other day and they were both excellent. If I hadn't found something on eBay that's what I'd be riding now. The Focus bikes are also highly recommended in that price bracket and Wiggle do a 7 day trial and return.

I'll have a look at Halfords too tomorrow, quite looking forward to trying a road bike tomorrow, for the last years I've always commuted on a jump bike with knobbly tires

The Boardman bikes have been getting excellent reviews, but unfortunately you've got to do some serious negotiation to try one. Bike Hut are better (owned by Halfords). I was also told to look at the Specialized Allez; supposed to be a great frame and you can easily upgrade the groupset as you wish.
