Finally got my bike this morning, couple of photos just taken.

The bike is a ZX6R - 636.

Just need to sort insurance now and fingers crossed for some nicer weather (ok it's sunny today, just cold).

Congratulations - they look great when they're clean and spangly.

I have to say though, that's one ugly fairing :(

Nice bike you got there, is it your first?

Don't let the cold stop you, I find it only bothers me when I stop, at speed I'm thinking about other stuff; but I did have to buy some winter gloves recently, as my summer ones were getting a tad too cold :p

Scort.

It's my first for a while, not had a bike since I was 19.

I will be taking it easy! the cold isn't an issue as got my nice warm trousers/jacket (textile) just looking forward to nicer weather to get some miles on it and get used to it.

I know the look isn't to everyones taste but I really like it, almost got a GSXR but this was a bit larger and more comfortable.

I went to the MCN bike show yesterday had a sit on one, it's a bit small for me, but they do look really nice, and they sound awsome - good power delivery, but I find them a little bit snatchy when you push on....

Enjoy and stay safe! Don't be a wimp, now's great for riding! :D

The newer ZX6 is a lot smaller than this one. These are really nice bikes, and made for normal sized people!

I think the newer ones are similar sized to the GSXR, I tried a few and thought this would be the most comfortable for riding any sort of distance on, also with the extra few cc's (636) there is a little more midrange than the non 636 zx6r.

Looking forward to getting out and about when I have insurance sorted in the next few days! then a new can in the not too distant future :D.

I had a ZX6R for my first bike (10 years ago now ), loved it to bits, still have a soft spot for Kwakers now even though I ride a Yamaha at present.

Nice first bike, that particular model is very user friendly, and pretty comfy for a sports bike.

Just make sure you keep it clean, the english winters just eat Kwakers, mine was mint, one winter later every single screw, fairing bolt etc was rusted solid, you also really need to keep ontop of the brakes, withut regular cleaning, they stick then finnally seize.

My mate had the exact same model as that, I would also advise spending a few quid on getting the suspension sorted out if your a big lad, I had a blast (im around 6f 3" & 14 stone) and it was diving on the brakes and a bit wallowey through the bends, theres lots of places out there that will sort out your standard suspension for a few quid. or replace it for a few hundred quid. Kais and maxton are both very good.

Oh, braided hoses are a must, that look sas though its still on its original rubber ones, they will be well past there sell buy date, fit some nice EBC HH sintered pads at the same time for nice safe stoppers.

i love the kwaks - shame the build quality on them is naff. :(

still remember chasing my mate home every night at 160+ on the way home from work. always used to be able to pull on me though due to the 636s extra bit of punch.

I know they aren't the best for their ability to withstand rust :), the guy who had it before managed to keep it in almost pristine condition (hardly rode it only has 8,400 miles on). It will be garaged and well looked after, lets hope I can keep it in as good condition as it currently is!

Yep they are bigger than the new ones, but i think only in width wise, one of my best mates has this mode 636 but hes got it in (at the time) racing quak colours, looks good and goes well, have fun with it :D

Where abouts are you?

I am in between Basingstoke and Fleet, about 5 miles from the M3 Junction 5a (I think, A287 goes towards Guildford)

Nice Bike +1

I thought the ZX6R felt more comfortable then a CBR6.. love the induction roar kwackers always seem to have..

Sounds like a good idea! have to organise it around family and work :) should be insured and riding it in the next few days as well.
