WTF are RIM thinking in producing this eye poison?

LOL the first time i saw that...about a couple of weeks ago due a friend of mine who works for RIM in Canada...i almost threw up:p..

Its a fugly phone but the good thing is that its running an early version of OS6...which ill add should be out later this year with the new revamped webkit browser.

I guess the new flip BB will appeal to some people, not all but a fair few. Personally i hate all flip phones.

Well it depends really if they make a world version of the phone ie with a sim card as well in it. They did that with the original Tour aka 9630...was going to buy one last yr but decided to hang fire for the 9700 instead...best decision.

Also the new Pearl 3G is soon to be released...looks nice with now 3G capability...no idea when it will be released here but over at WES they launched it.

Looks a darn sight better than a Blackberry 8120 on os4.5!!!

Well RIM have to step up a gear and with OS6 i think they are doing a pretty good job of it.

Just waiting for a leak for OS6...definitely will have it on my 9700 as that will be more than capable of running OS6...hopefully my contact within RIM will send me a leaked version:p

I have been playing with one of my brother-in-laws Orange 8120's for the past 5 days. He has 12 Blackberries (2x9700,1x9000 and 9x8120) on an Orange business contract, stuck a PAYG sim card in and bought a £5 blackberry service from Orange Customer services and have been trying out UMA on my Cisco router and it works very well. My present contact on my E71 ends in a couple of months and the new BB Pearl 3G looks rather nice so I maybe tempted to move over to the dark side and get a Blackberry.

The E71 has been a superb phone over the 16months I have had it, Nokia's push email service works well and it is free :), HSDPA is excellent, good GPS, Map support and a good browsers such as Opera Mobile and Skyfire.

But the new OS6 does look very nice, definately would like to try before I buy though.

Lol it is a shockingly bad looking phone, is that the final version?

Who knows but it seems that way from what i have been hearing from certain people...some people will buy it and some wont...RIM are just catering for everyone really ie flip, candybar, touchscreen and the full QWERTY phones.

OS6 probably wont be on any device till year end...so i would imagine the new Storm and the new Bold will have OS6 as standard.

The youtube clip is certainly focusing on it being a touch screen OS

Well it seems that way but it isnt..OS6 is optimised for trackpad use as well....but there will be most probably 2 different versions of OS6 ie touchscreen for the Storm series and the non touchscreen version for the other devices in the range.

Really liking the look of the 9650, reminds me of the 9000 a little, with the silver buttons and bezel, hope it comes to us! =D

It wont unless its a world version ie comes with a sim card slot like the previous 9630 Tour did....the 9650 is a CDMA device and only offered to networks that run CDMA and usually thats limited to N America only.

Plus RIM are now trying to incorporate the Bold model range to Verizon and other CDMA networks, hence the 9650 is part of the Bold lineup.

If anything the 9650 is a 9700 in CDMA clothing...nothing like the 9000 at all....but its a higher spec Bold ie comes with 512mb of RAM and also a 5mp camera....the most seen in any BB device.

Yeah I just like the silver buttons for the function keys, I can see 2 function buttons that are the same on the 9000 which I always liked, unlike the 9700 which is all black round the sides which is also nice, may pick one up in the near future as Vodafone have kept BIS on my new Desire contract which is quality!

5mp camera? =o its saying its a 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, autofocus, LED flash on GSMArena?
