Yes it would look like this.
Mine is an Ideal Vogue and part of the warranty is that you must have their filter fitted, the Ideal Filter is actually pretty good being solid brass and is easy to flush out. Personally i wouldn't have a boiler fitted without one.

That's it thanks. Yeah I definitely don't have anything like that attached to my return pipe.
With yours being an ideal what warranty does it get and what requirements for it.

2 year warranty. I don't see anything in the installer guide http://idealboilers.com/uploads/documents/installation-servicing-logic-combi-esp1.pdf regarding magnetic filters.
Different to mine then, 10 years with a filter.

1 year on and im looking to replace system boiler and get an unvented hot water cylinder to replace emersion heater and remove water danks from the loft.
Going to get a couple of quotes from local trades then one from british gas to see what the difference in price is. Anyone else looking to do a similar thing
