New Boxster

I received one of Porsches emails yesterday about the third generation Boxster.

Engine wise it looks better than thought, they've not gone down the rumoured 4 pot turbo route.....yet? The interior has received a much needed update and looks a nice place to be, the old interior looked dated imo. Not sure about the shape of the new headlights though, look more Nissan/Toyota than Porsche. Will need to see them in real life though before they are spoken about in the same vein as the 996/986 teardrops.

A few quotes from the mail mentions the 911 in the same sentence as the new Boxster and gives slightly difference figures, although that could be down to Sports Chrono and it's nice to see a 3 year warranty at last.

OTR prices seem high to me, especially in this current financial climate, time will tell.

A range of innovative technologies on the new models, many of which are also shared with the new 911, are key to achieving improvements in efficiency.

The 2.7-litre engine in the new Boxster delivers 265 hp and accelerates the car from 0 to 62 mph in 5.8 seconds with manual transmission or 5.5 seconds with Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission and Sport Chrono package, while the 3.4-litre engine in the new Boxster S produces 315 hp, resulting in a 0 to 62 mph time of only 5.1 seconds, or 4.8 seconds with PDK and Sport Chrono package.

An order for either of these models can be made by placing a £3,000 deposit with our Porsche Centre. Included in the price is a driving experience at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone and a three year warranty.

Lovely looking boxster, I'm sure it will be amazing to drive as all the reviews go for this car!

Still a Boxster though :P

I suspect most that purchase a new Porsche don't worry too much about the financial climate, they'll be doing well regardless.

I'd agree with you if we were talking about the 911, but this is for the entry level Porsche a fact that Porsche owners themselves are quick to point out.

By the time you spec one out a standard model will be mid £40's and the S model will be approaching £50k and you can forget about any discount. Porsche don't even give good px's prices from experience.

Hence my observation about price.

Porsches are for gayers and driven by fat balding 40 year olds who have beer bellies, to many chins, small willies who think they are gods gift to everything and have massive egos and keep on about how they used to rule the world from the top. Proper men have something from Ferrari or one of them GT-R things, though GT-R owners have even smaller winkies I think as all they constancy want to tell you why it's better than your Porsche. Boxsters are for the same but usually more gay and usually for people in marketing with leather folders you see on station platforms and soft italian leather laptop bags.

This is ALL FACT!

That's unfair, DM isn't here to defend himself anymore :p

I know it's early but I think this is a contender for post of the year :p

That's a decent price for the car you're getting. The looks are a big improvement along with the interior, would be an awesome 2nd car to pick up in 5 years or so.
