Hello to all. I have the above budget. I'm going to use it for photo-editing/video editing/large format printing/general use. I'm not much of a gamer. I'll be buying the new Company Of Heroes and a decent cricket simulation should a miracle happen and one is ever released. I buy a new system roughly every five years. Stability is important. How am I doing with these bits? A bit of cash left over. This lot comes to £890.00 at Overclockers. Thanks for any advice and input.

Thanks. I'll happily jump up to 16gb if it's needed. I've had a read and it can be better; certainly won't do any harm. Some of the files can be very large, it'll help when trimming them I'm sure. Ta again.

Hoping to order this weekend. Any suggestions welcome if this could be bettered for my budget. Thanks.

I'd suggest giving the Windows 8 Enterprise evaluation edition a bash for free on it's 3 month trial. Windows 8.1 will be a service pack of sorts and will add back the start menu, it too should get a preview to try out for free. This lets you spend more on components now and worry about the OS later.

The slimline ODD isn't for that case either fella and it's Slooooow.......

i7K will help your video editing, cooler added to help OC it. 16GB of RAM is 1600Mhz but has decent OC potential. Faster SSD, more storage on the HDD. I've put a 7870 in the basket but I'd personally try and source a Tahiti core 7870 (eg the VTX3D black boosted edition OCuk have only just stopped stocking), it's closely related to the 7950 with an OC it trades blows with a stock 7950 at 7870 prices ;)

Are you sure that H100 fits the case ok? The RAM I used is cheaper and doesn't fill all the DIMM slots. I'd like a modular PSU too if I'm really honest not that XFX PSUs are a bad choice.
