Hi, I'm looking to do a new build that will hopefully last 3 years+.
I will be using my old Antec 300 case and my OCZ GameXStream 600W power supply I got about 3 years ago if you guys think it can still do the job.

This is what I've come up with, budget is £700 max.

Now I only play games at 1680x1050 so I'm not sure if the gfx is over kill.
If this system is ok, I'm wondering what the next best upgrade would be for the future, I was thinking either 4gb more ram or an SSD, not sure which would make the most difference.

Look forward to your advice.

If you are planning on overclocking the i5 760 to 3.8~4.2GHz, I would suggest you getting a better CPU cooler, such as the Titan Evo or the Akasa Venom.

As for graphic card, 6850 and 6870 should be out by the end of this week (if no more delays)...see how they compare to the GTX470 price, performance, and tessellation performance wise. £240 is expensive for a GTX470...OcUK sometimes drop the price of GTX470 to £225 or lower on "this week only" and "today only" offer, keep an eye out for that as well.

Good call on the CPU cooler, if I was to overclock the i5, will the 600W power supply be fine?
600W will be enough for you to overclock both the CPU, AND a GTX470, as the OCZ GameXSteam are high quality line of the OCZ PSU, unless your PSU aged poorly and start developing problems over the years.
