Hi All,

I have come up with a first-build, I was wondering if I am on the right lines in terms of complimentary components.

1 x Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) £8.99
Total : £743.86 (includes shipping : £12.50).

I am waiting for the 770 (Tomorrow I believe? ), as I was previously going to get a 670 card.

Also I have read about the Haswell, however, the only downside would be losing out on the 5% discount code for this :/. Is it really worth the wait to warrant not buying the IvyBridge i5. Primarily this is going to be used for Gaming.

Cheers

Haswell is definitely worth it to stop you from buying into a dead socket, however if the 5% discount won't last that long then the i5 3570k is a perfectly capable chip which will last a good few years.

I'd change the motherboard however as Asrock aren't the greatest in my experience, and you can get much better from Asus, Gigabyte for a similar/better price.

The cooler comes with paste pre-applied. The ram wont interfere with the cooler as they are low profile.

Do you need a hdd for storage or do you already have one. Only asking, as the ssd will fill up pretty quickly.

Unfortunately the 5% runs out on 31st :(.
