New Build Advice please.

I like the 16GB version FredFlint suggests.

I would tweak the storage options a little and suggest a Samsung SSD for my boot drive. Furthermore if you have a large Steam library for gaming you might want to increase the size to 512GB as 256GB does not allow much for games after OS and apps. The last thing you want to do is load games like BF4 or AC Unity from a HDD.

Alternatively keep the 256GB SSD and swap the 2TB HDD for a 2TB SSHD at the very least.

Hey, that's exactly what I have done for my order. Ordered the 512gb version of the ssd.

My current system is so old and slow that the speed of boot alone is gonna shock me

Looks like a major problem. The h105 coolr doesn't fit into the 450D case!!!!

It can't sit into the brackets cos of the motherboard part!!!

Just had a look on Corsairs site and it looks like it’s the only Corsair cooler that does not fit, really sorry about that. Looks like the h105 is a bit thicker than the others. Here is the link to the Corsair page http://www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2014/april/450d-build-log-part-1

It says the h100i and the h110 fit so you could exchange the h105 for one of those.

Think it must be because the boards has the heat pipe at the top. Don’t know if the H100i/H110 would fit now?

I appreciate your speccing. It doesn't fit due to the motherboards heat sink....however I managed to fix it on...not using the right screw holes and rem an internal fan.

I'm posting from it right now :-)

Good news, post some pictures.

I will when I get back from my weekend away.

Must say, I loved building it myself. Cables need redoing as they're very messy but step one was to get it up and running. Approx 10 min win install, 8sec boot up. So fast. Very happy.

When I get back I'll get on with piccie and cable management.
First build in years and pretty damn easy.
