Hi all
I have opted for an alder lake upgrade mainly due to video editing but also my son games on it.
I do have some existing equipment to make use off but basic run down below. Few queries I have in terms of air flow , case fans to buy.

I don’t have any case fans on my list yet and wanting to make use of the best airflow the case can offer
I was thinking about having the intake coming from the bottom and out of the top, with the gpu expelling air in the usual position would this be fine for the heat to rise and what about the orientation of the noctua, I assume these will just work in the natural position and I just need some case fans at the bottom of the case and potentially the top?

or is there a better combination to go for and what fans would you recommend?

I am going for the following

lian li evo case in white https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lian-li-o11d-evo-mid-tower-case-white-ca-7a5-ll.html

Msi pro z690-a ddr4 motherboard https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-pro-z690-a-ddr4-intel-z690-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-36c-ms.html

I7 12700k cpu (was going to go for the 12900k for the extra cores but didn’t like the idea of keeping it cool)

Noctua nh- d15s chroma black cooler- I have checked the site and the board above is compatible and it clears the ram modules.

64gb Kingston fury 3200mhz ddr4 c16 (yes I know I would prefer to have 3600mhz version) - hoping it won’t make to much of a difference

2 x Samsung 980 with heat sink m.2

1080TI GPU

Corsair rm1000x psu

thanks

As you want good airflow and are using an air cooler for the CPU, I'd look at the fractal torrent. That Lian Li case with a couple of extra fans to buy is closing in on the torrent price anyway.

In terms of cases I recommend:
Low End:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phanteks-eclipse-p300-air-midi-tower-case-black-window-ca-09y-pt.html

Otherwise if you're liking the Lian-Li look, I recommend

For airflow focused builds. The Dynamic isn't bad airflow wise, but really is designed with liquid cooling in mind. This one comes with fans so you will save some money in that department.

For Fans:
Low End: (but still high performance)

Higher End with RGB:

NHD15s a top tier Air cooler so I support this.
