New build at last

After putting it off for so long ive bit the bullet and ordered new rig this morning,
including Q6600, ip35 pro and 8800 GTX.

Think im in for a shock after using an off the shelf pc for the last 4 years with a P4 and 6600GT

This will be my first build so im sure ill be in here a lot with noob questions for you knowledgeable guys.


EDIT: just noticed the ip35 pro and bfg 8800gtx have dropped again in price on TWO offers from when i ordered it this morning.

Plenty of people in here to give advice if you need it.

Maybe a bit of bad luck with the timing there but that's the nature of PC components. Whether it was today or next week you'll find the gear you've paid for starts dropping.

And yeah it's just a bit bad luck. Can't unfortunately predict offers so it's just a little hope that you are catching it at the lowest price. I remember ordering my 2900 XT, and the week the 1GB model was on offer and only £30 more than I paid for my 512MB model, whereas normallly it was £50+. Another time recently I ordered some RAM from a competitor, as I was on a tight budget and got it a few quid cheaper - a few days later OcUK had some GeIL 6400 DDR2 up for £45 instead of £55, which was a little annoying, but again just unlucky.

I think OcUK generally honour the prices if you purchase and they drop within a couple of days but you could always either phone up or send them a webnote to check on this.
